We take a unique approach to car repairs by ensuring that all repair work is done correctly the first time, allowing our clients to get back on the road as quickly as possible. We achieve this by effectively communicating and managing expectations regarding all the work we undertake, keeping our clients informed about the status of their repairs at all times.
Founded in 2023 by married couple Llian and Antoinette Van den Berg in Kimberley, South Africa, our family-run business is passionate about the automotive repair industry. We are dedicated to serving local Kimberlites as well as out-of-town clients looking to fix and service their cars and bakkies. Our founders are entrepreneurs, supported by a network of partners from Impact mobile auto electrician services.
Meet the team

Llian Van den Berg - Founder & Workshop Manager
Llian has been falling over tools in the garage since his "laatie" days, his family are known for being mechanics in town and his father founded the repair shop A1 Tommies in Kimberley where Llian has been working for the past 8 years. Following his passion and dreams Llian opened The MotoMech in 2023 with a mission to provide quality and affordable repairs to all cars and bakkie owners in Kimberley.
Llian's passion is any form of restoration and he gets real joy from restoring a car or parts of it to its former glory and good working state. His preferred area of work is with a torque wrench busy rebuilding engines and his become a fanboy of VW and Audi cars lately, and known as a guru when repairing them.
Outside of work Llian loves spending time with his family and can be found with a rifle in hand, in the bush during the hunting season in the Northern Cape.

Antoinette Van den Berg - Founder & Admin
Antoinette was introduced to the car repair industry by her husband Llian and has followed suit to work in her father in laws workshop A1 Tommies where she has gained valuable experience dealing with the admin side of the business. She's well-versed in dealing with all forms of client leasing, buying parts from suppliers, daily bookkeeping and any other forms of admin required to make the wheels turn in the workshop.
Antoinette also enjoys spending time with her family and dogs during weekends, she's also a pro at doing manicures during her off time.

Randall - Apprentice
Randall is working as an apprentice and is busy learning the trade on how to fix and diagnose cars from Llian.
